Homeless Veterans

Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness—and their family members, friends and supporters—can make the call to or chat online with the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans, where trained counselors are ready to talk confidentially 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

North Dakota Veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can apply for a grant which may provide them with a specially trained Service Dog.

The North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs is committed to being there for North Dakota Veterans and their families when unexpected hardships arise. Through the Hardship Grant, eligible Veterans may receive assistance when an unforeseen situation creates a financial burden or impacts their health, safety, or well-being. Lloyd’s story is a reminder that sometimes a helping hand can make all the difference in helping a Veteran and their family remain safe and secure in their home. The ND DVA is proud to work alongside Local Veterans Service Officers and community partners to connect Veterans and their families with the benefits, resources, and assistance they have earned.

Scam Alert: Veterans Targeted by Fake "Veterans Saving Program" Mailers

The North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs is warning Veterans about fraudulent postcards promoting a so-called "Veterans Saving Program." These mailers are not from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the program does not exist. If you receive one of these postcards, do not provide personal or financial information. Always verify benefit information directly with the VA or an accredited Veterans Service Officer and report any suspicious mail. Staying informed is the best way to protect yourself from scams.
