Registered Emmons county. Born, Zweelo, Holland, Feb. 24, 1887. Citizenship, alien. Inducted at Linton on April 30, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in 163rd Depot Brigade, to May 1, 1918; Company E, 350th Infantry, to May 16, 1918; Company F, 358th Infantry, to death. Overseas from June 20, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: St. Mihiel. Defensive Sector: Villers-en-Haye (Lorraine).
