Registered Traill county. Born, Mayville, N. Dak., April 29, 1891, of Norwegian-American parents. Occupation - farmer. Induced at Hillsboro on Sept. 22, 1917. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company K, 352nd Infantry, to Nov. 28, 1917; Company M, 348th Infantry, to April 14, 1918; Company E, 39th Infantry, to death. Grade: Private 1st Class, June 17, 1918. Overseas from May 10, 1918, to death. Engagement: Offensive: Aisne-Marne. Wounded, about Aug. 5, 1918.
