Biography:
Staff Sergeant Carl Raymond Fuhrmann was wounded in action in France August 5 and died the same day. Carl entered the United States Army, March 27, 1942, and was stationed first at Camp Barkley, Texas, then went on maneuvers in Louisiana and California. He was home on furlough in January, 1944 then went to Trenton, New Jersey, where he was sent overseas. He was in England until D-Day, when he went into Normandy with the United States forces. He was born in Cathay September 18, 1915, where he received his schooling, with the exception of one year which he spent at Aneta. He was in the CCC before the war broke out. He is buried in Grave 8980, Block 9, Section C Ft Snelling National Cemetery, Mpls, Minn.
