Biography:

Carroll George Christenson was born in Mandan, Morton County, North Dakota on April 15, 1925, to Thoralf Hansenius Christenson and Natalie Weiss Christenson. He entered United States Marine Corp in San Diego, California on March 10, 1943, and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Private First Class Christenson was killed in action on March 8, 1945, in Iwo Jima, Monsenor Nouel, Dominican Republic and is buried in Plot 42, Grave 11, Southside Addition at Union Cemetery, Mandan, Morton County, North Dakota.
