Biography:
Not a registrant, enlisted prior. Born, Oscoda, Mich., Dec. 11, 1887, of Canadian-American parents. Occupation - farmer. Enlisted in the Marine Corps at St. Paul, Minn., on May 9, 1917. Sent to Mare Island, Calif. Served in 79th Company, 6th Regiment, Quantico, Va., to Dec. 27, 1917. Arrived in France, Feb. 8, 1918. Served in Replacement Battalion, to Sept. 19, 1918; 79th Company, to death. Engagements: Toulon Sector; Aisne Defensive; Chateau-Thierry Sector; Meuse-Argonne (Champagne). Wounded, June 6, 1918. Awarded Fourragere.
