Circumstances:

He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Kunu-ri, North Korea on November 30, 1950 and died while a prisoner on June 1, 1951. 

He was not among those returned at the wars end and is listed as Missing in Action. His remains have never been recovered.
