Biography:
Not a registrant. Born, Fonda, Iowa, Sept. 13, 1899, of American parents. Occupation - farmer. Enlisted in the Navy at Omaha, Nebr., on July 25, 1918. Served at Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Ill., to Aug. 21, 1918; Naval Operating Base, Norfolk, Va., to Aug. 31, 1918; USS Wisconsin, to Oct. 12, 1918; USS Mercy, to death. Grade: Fireman 3rd Class, 81 days.
