Circumstances:

Died in service on the U.S.S. Spence. The U.S.S Spence was part of Task Force 38 (TF 38) which had been operating about 300 miles east of Luzon in the Philippine Sea, conducting air raids against Japanese airfields in the Philippines and had been trying to refuel their ships. On December 8, 1944 the entire Task Group were engulfed in what was known as " Typhoon Cobra ". 3 ships sank in the Typhoon Cobra.

He resided in Westport, Baltimore, Maryland prior to the war. Glen enlisted in the Navy on November 4, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland.

His death was classified as being in the " Line Of Duty " since there was not any enemy involvement.
