Circumstances:
Died while on a bombing mission in support of Operation Desert Storm. The B-52 aircraft he was radar navigator on crashed in the Indian Ocean reportedly caused by mechanical problems as the crew attempted to fly back to Diego Garcia, about 3,200 miles southeast of Baghdad.
