Registered Cavalier county. Born, Mt. Carmel, N. Dak., June 4, 1896, of German parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Langdon on June 24,1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in 163rd Depot Brigade, to July 13, 1918; Company E, 352nd Infantry, to death. Overseas from Aug. 16, 1918, to death. Engagement: Defensive Sector: Center (Alsace).
