Buried at Gironde, France. Remains returned to U. S. on Nov. 10, 1920, and buried at Cando, N. Dak.
Name included on the All Veterans Memorial at State Capitol in Bismarck ND.

Biography:
Registered Cavalier county. Born, Cando, N. Dak., Nov. 17, 1890, of American parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Langdon on Sept. 21, 1917. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company M, 352nd Infantry, to Nov. 29, 1917; Company F, 347th Infantry, to March 21, 1918; Company E, 26th Engineers, to death. Overseas from Aug. 17, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensives: St. Mihiel; Meuse-Argonne.
