Biography:

Cpl. LeRoy Haugen was born April 7, 1930 at Langdon, North Dakota to Helmer and Louise Haugen. He had been in the U.S. Army over 5 years, about 3 of them in service during the Korean War and Japan with the Eighth Army. He had been stationed at Ft. Sheridan, Ill and later transferred to Ft. Lincoln, Bismarck, ND with the North Dakota Military District. On June 4, 1952 he had died as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Wilton ND in Burleigh County ND. He was survived by his wife Nettie, parents Helmer and Louise Haugen of Hunter, ND. Five brothers Bert of Minneapolis MN, Carl of Hunter ND, Alfred of Minot, ND, Lloyd of Stanley ND, Nels of Tombstone AZ. Four sisters Helen, Mrs. Oscar Otteson of Clifford ND, Lillian, Mrs. Almer Carlson of Clifford ND, Edith, Mrs. John Tuff of Rugby ND, and Marion Mott of Cherry Point, NC. He is buried in Plot 2, Row West, Section 5 in Hunter Cemetery, Hunter, ND.
