Biography:

Victor Hugo Schneider was Born July 10, 1915, to Hugo Albert and Anna Theisen Schneider in Glen Ullin, Morton County, North Dakota. He entered the United State Army in May 1941 and trained at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Fort Benning, Georgia; and Camp Shelby, Mississippi. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. First Lieutenant Schneider was killed in action on August 2, 1944, in Pont-Farcy, Department du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France. He is buried at Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Departmement de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France, Plot F, Row 15, Grave 6.
