Circumstances:
Died while in MIA status. On April 13, 1943, over Trapani, Sicily, a B-17F was seen losing altitude. The ship was last seen immediately off the target in the sea. Six to seven members of crew were seen in dinghy or swimming towards it. Air-Sea Rescue was notified but no personnel were picked up.
Biography:
Memorialized at North Africa American Cemetery. Received Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and Purple Heart awards.
