Veterans Organizations

The Marine Corps League (MCL) is expanding into the Fargo area and is searching for a few good Marines! Touted as the only Marine Corps specific veteran service organization, the MCL was chartered by Congress in 1937 and has proven to be the singular voice for Marines since its inception.

The mission continues with the MCL after the end of active service (EAS) from the United States Marine Corps! Enjoy the camaraderie only known while serving as a United States Marine; or, as a Navy Corpsman or a Navy Chaplain assigned to a Marine Corps unit. Help support fellow Marines, Navy Corpsman and their families while engaging within your community and veteran affairs. Bond with your fellow Marines - serve your Corps, your Community, your Country in a new way - JOIN the Marine Corps League!

Regular membership within the MCL is open to any Active-Duty and/or honorably discharged Marine; or Navy Corpsman or Navy Chaplain that served in the Fleet Marine Force (FMF). Associate membership to the MCL is open to any honorable citizen or veteran of another branch of service that supports the mission and ideals of the United States Marine Corps.

An informational meeting to confirm interest in establishing a MCL Detachment in the Fargo area is scheduled for Thursday, October 27, at 6:30 PM (CDT), at the West Fargo VFW Club, Main Dining Room, at 308 Sheyenne Street, West Fargo.

This informational meeting is hosted by the Dakota Leathernecks Detachment #1419 (Bismarck/Mandan area) of the MCL. The Dakota Leathernecks are, currently, the only active MCL Detachment in North Dakota and are working to commission MCL Detachments into Minot, Dickinson and Fargo areas. For additional information, search Dakota Leathernecks Detachment on Facebook, email dakotaleathernecks@gmail.com, and attend this informational meeting.
