Richard James Gaffaney Jr

Biography:

Richard, the son of Richard J. Gaffaney Sr. and Marguerite A. Gaffaney of Fargo ND enlisted in the US Marine Corps on April 25, 1967, he arrived in Vietnam on October 12, 1967, and was assigned for duty with Company E, 2d Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF. In mid-June, the 2d Battalion was assigned to the SLF and his unit was re-designated Company E, BLT 2/7, 9th MAB.

He is buried Lot 229 L in Riverside Cemetery - Fargo, ND. 

Francis Edward Geiger

Biography:

"Bird Dog" USAF Forward Air Controller (FAC) Francis Geiger was lost while supporting the U.S. Marines in Kon Tum province of Vietnam. FAC's marked targets with smoke rockets or grenades, performed and/or directed air strikes upon the enemy and led rescue missions, while enduring intense ground fire, hazardous weather and hostile terrain.

He is buried in Calvary Catholic Cemetery - Enid, Oklahoma. 

Geiger Hall at the Minot Air Force Base is named after him. 

Gene Thomas Gietzen

Biography:

Gene, the son of William F. Gietzen and Mary E. Gietzen, enlisted in the US Marine Corps on September 17, 1968, in Fargo ND. He arrived in Vietnam on March 19, 1969, and was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF.

He is buried in Row 12, Lot 239, Plot 11 in Saint Clement Cemetery - Morton County, ND. 

Ronald Christy Goodiron

Biography:

2023: ND Legislature passed bill naming the bridge on state highway 6 between state highway 24 and county road 134 near Breien ND as the "Ronald C. Goodiron Vietnam Bridge." HB 1355
