Richard, the son of Richard J. Gaffaney Sr. and Marguerite A. Gaffaney of Fargo ND enlisted in the US Marine Corps on April 25, 1967, he arrived in Vietnam on October 12, 1967, and was assigned for duty with Company E, 2d Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF. In mid-June, the 2d Battalion was assigned to the SLF and his unit was re-designated Company E, BLT 2/7, 9th MAB.

He is buried Lot 229 L in Riverside Cemetery - Fargo, ND. 

"Bird Dog" USAF Forward Air Controller (FAC) Francis Geiger was lost while supporting the U.S. Marines in Kon Tum province of Vietnam. FAC's marked targets with smoke rockets or grenades, performed and/or directed air strikes upon the enemy and led rescue missions, while enduring intense ground fire, hazardous weather and hostile terrain.

He is buried in Calvary Catholic Cemetery - Enid, Oklahoma. 

Geiger Hall at the Minot Air Force Base is named after him. 

Gene, the son of William F. Gietzen and Mary E. Gietzen, enlisted in the US Marine Corps on September 17, 1968, in Fargo ND. He arrived in Vietnam on March 19, 1969, and was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF.

He is buried in Row 12, Lot 239, Plot 11 in Saint Clement Cemetery - Morton County, ND.

2023: ND Legislature passed bill naming the bridge on state highway 6 between state highway 24 and county road 134 near Breien ND as the "Ronald C. Goodiron Vietnam Bridge." HB 1355

First Lieutenant Jon Alfred Greenley, who joined the U.S. Air Force from North Dakota, was a member of the 774th Troop Carrier Squadron. He was a crew member aboard the Hercules when it went down on January 7, 1966, and his remains were not recovered from the crash site. He remains unaccounted-for. Today, First Lieutenant Greenley is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu. This is an American Battle Monuments Commission location.

Virgil Raymond Greany was serving his country during the Vietnam War when he gave his all in the line of duty. He had enlisted in the United States Army. Greany had the rank of Major. Service number assignment was 82177. He was born on November 26, 1930. North Dakota was his home or enlistment state, and Pierce County has been included within the archival record. Rugby is listed as his city.  1193 - Field Artillery Unit Commander served in Vietnam's operation Barrel Roll and was killed by an explosive device. Received the Purple Heart. Service years 1952-1964.

Gunder Peter Richotte Gunderson was serving his country during the Vietnam War, and he gave his all in the line of duty.  He enlisted in the United States Army and entered the service via Regular Military. His tour began on August 18, 1965. Gunderson had the rank of Sergeant, and his military occupation or specialty was Infantry Indirect Fire Crewman. Service number assignment was 17546841, attached to 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry, D Company. 

Spec. 4 James Groth enlisted in the army in March 1966. He received his basic training at Fort Riley, Kans., and left for Viet Nam following a furlough in Enderlin with his parents.
He was assigned to the Ninth Infantry Division and later transferred to the Fourth Division when he was fatally injured.
Groth was a 1963 graduate of Enderlin High School and attended the State School of Science at Wahpeton.
