Rasmus Rasmussen Skriver

Served in Company L, 352nd Infantry, to Nov. 28, 1917; Company I, 348th Infantry, to June 11, 1918; Camp Pike Replacement Draft, to July 27, 1918; Company H, 23rd Infantry, to death. Merle H. Longnecker

Biography:

Merle H. Longnecker grew up in New Rockford, Eddy County, North Dakota. He entered the Navy in 1942 and received flight training in Washington, California, and Texas. He was commissioned an officer at Pensacola in February 1944, and while in Florida, he married Blanche Lucy, a native of West Virginia. He then was sent to Rhode Island for night-fighter training. Ensign Longnecker and his wife lived off-base at 67 Liberty Street in Westerly, Rhode Island.

Samuel Lee Avis

Biography:

Registered Stutsman county. Born, Jamestown, N. Dak., July 12, 1890, of American parents. Occupation - electrical contractor and engineer. Appointed from civil life and commissioned 1st Lieutenant, in Officers Reserve Corps, on Jan. 14, 1918. Sent to Camp Lee, Va. Assigned to Engineers, to death.
