Alvin P. Anderson

Biography:

Alvin Palmer Anderson was born on December 20, 1920, in Buffalo, Cass County, North Dakota to John A and Ingeborg (Inga) Anderson. He joined the United States Army on February 16, 1942, and was stationed at Camp Rucker, Alabama. He died in Belgium on January 8, 1945. Private First Class Anderson is buried at Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial in Hamm, Canton de Luxembourg, Luxembourg, Luxembourg, Plot E, Row 9, Grave 24. He received the Purple Heart award.

Biography:

Anderson was a left waist gunner. Buried at Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial.

Ernest L. Anderson

Biography:

Ernest Lloyd (Ernie) Anderson was born on April 1, 1919, in Leonard, Cass County, North Dakota to Carl L and Mattie Helen Listad Hendrickson Anderson. First Lieutenant Anderson was killed in action on August 31, 1943. His aircraft was struck by anti-aircraft fire and crashed while bombing the German airfield at Lille/Vendeville, Département du Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France. Buried at Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands, Plot P, Row 4, Grave 11. He received the Purple Heart.

Lee E. Anderson

Biography:

Lee Erling Anderson was born on February 15, 1924, to Richard and Gerda Anderson in McKenzie, Billings County, North Dakota. He registered for the service on June 30, 1942, in Medora, Billings County, North Dakota and was working for the Northern Pacific Railroad Company. Private Anderson was taken prisoner in the vicinity of Schönberg, Belgium on December 21, 1944.  He was held prisoner in Stalag IV-B Mühlberg, Landkreis Elbe-Elster, Brandenburg, Germany and according to a German autopsy report he died in the Reserve Hospital V in Leipzig of peritonitis on March 21, 1945.
