Entered US Army at Ft. Snelling Minn 19 July 1943. Served European Theater. Name included in the WWII Register of North Dakota Veterans on page 149.

Born in Turtle Lake, McLean County, North Dakota 27 December 1921 to parents Ella (Lockrem) and Melvin Webster. His mother Ella died when Garner was 5 years old leaving 6 children with their father. Garner and his infant brother Chester were raised in Mercer, McLean County, North Dakota by their Uncle Christ O. Lockrem and his wife Gena (Peterson) along with their two children Gertrude and Pearl. Resident of McLean County North Dakota. Entered US Army at Fort Snelling Minnesota 16 October 1942. Died in Service 4 September 1944. Italy. Burial place Unknown.

Born January 21, 1922 in New Salem, Morton County, North Dakota to Erwin and Ella (Mann) Kruger. Graduated from New Salem High School in 1939. Graduated University of North Dakota with a bachelor's degree in philosophy in May of 1943. Resident of Morton County. Entered US Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on 30 June 1943. attended training at Camp Polk, Louisiana and Camp Livingston, Louisiana. Commissioned as a second lieutenant at Fort Benning, Georgia in November 1943. December 14, 1943 he married Clara Kautzmann at his parents home in Bismarck.
