Registered Mercer county. Born, Columbia, South Dakota, May 1, 1897, of Russian parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Stanton, ND on March 29, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company B, 1st Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade, to April 20, 1918; Company M, 139th Infantry, to death. Overseas from May 3, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sectors: Grange-le-Comte (Lorraine); Gerardmer (Alsace).

Walter M. Severson

Biography:

Not a registrant, under age. Born, Shanow county, Wis., Jan., 1895, of (nationality of parents not given). Occupation - unknown. Enlisted at Minot on June 4, 1918. Sent to Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Served in Medical Department, to July 31, 1918; Quartermaster Corps, to death.

Born Minot ND 26 October 1944. Entered US Navy Fargo ND 12 September 1963. Buried in Persilla Watts Cemetery - Rugby, ND.

Born 7 August 1928 in Harvey ND (Wells County). Resident of Pierce County ND when entered USAF at Ft. Sheridan Illinois on 11 September 1947. Serviced in England.

Born Dayton MN 20 February 1921. Resident of Pierce County ND when entered US Army in Anoka MN on 16 January 1951. Served in Korea.

Sophus Goodman Arman

Biography:

Registered in Wells County. Born Grafton, Walsh County, North Dakota on May 29, 1898 of Icelandic parents. Occupation: Student. Inducted at Grand Forks on October 9. 1918 sent to University of North Dakota. Served in Students Army Training Corps until death. Died at Grand Forks ND on October 27, 1918 along with 26 fellow soldiers during the Flu Pandemic.

William H. Magill Jr.

Biography:

Born Fargo ND on 26 August 1918 to parents William and Lucille Magill. Resident Cass County ND. Had three siblings including one brother named Gordon. Entered US Army from Fargo ND on 11 August 1940. Served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
