Born February 4, 1922 in Van Hook ND. Resident Mountrail County. Entered US Army at Fort Snelling MN on November 20, 1942. Served European African Middle Eastern Theater. Killed in Action June 6, 1944. Buried in Plot J. Row 7, Grave 7 at Normandy France Normandy American Cemetery at St. Laurent-sur-Mer, France. Received Siver Star and Purple Heart Name included in Register of ND Veterans WWII book Page 66. Name included on All Veterans Memorial located on ND Capitol Grounds, Bismarck ND.

Registrant of Grand Forks County. Born November 1, 1886 in Atlanta, Macon County Missouri to American parents. Occupation: Clerk. Inducted at Grand Forks on July 9, 1918. Sent to University of North Dakota. Served in Student Army Training Corps to death. Died at Grand Forks ND on October 29, 1918 along with 26 fellow soldiers during the Flu Pandemic.

Was the last Student Army Training Corps soldier to die during the Flu Pandemic.
