Biography:

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Private First Class Michael A. Dworshak (ASN: RA-37548030), United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity as a member of Company B, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, in action against the enemy on 24 July 1950 near Yongdong, Korea. Private Dworshak was one of a group of men riding on tanks which were going forward into intense enemy mortar and small arms fire to break up a roadblock.
