Dewey W. Fink

Biography:

Not a registrant, enlisted prior. Born, Arthur, N. Dak., Jan. 29, 1898, of American-German parents. Occupation - student. Enlisted in Machine Gun Company, 1st Infantry, North Dakota National Guard, at Grand Forks, on June 19, 1916. Called into federal service on June 19, 1916, for Mexican border duty and served there until discharge. Discharge from federal service at Fort Snelling, Minn., on Feb. 14, 1917, and resumed National Guard status. Called into federal service, World War, on July 15, 1917.

Appointed from civil life and called into active duty as a 1st Lieutenant, on Nov. 27, 1917. Assigned to 38th Infantry, to death. Principal stations: Camp Greene, N. C.; Camp Merritt, N. J.; AEF.
