At the North Dakota Department of Transportation, we owe our success to our people and processes. As a Transportation Senior Manager in our Environmental & Transportation Services Division, you will assist in the procurement of preliminary and construction engineering services.The ideal person for this position will be a problem solver with excellent communication skills and attention to detail with previous experience in communicating with consultants and writing contracts. You will be responsible for interpretation of state and federal regulations for procuring engineering services and negotiating contracts. You will work with the NDDOT Divisions to determine a correct scope of work for projects and work with the State and Federal Highway to ensure compliance.Primary duties associated with this position are as follows: Administer and process design and construction contracts for consultants.Monitor and report on project and program budgets.Maintain consultant contracts in Contract Management and DocuSign.Review and process work authorizations and contract supplements.Assist with consultant selection process, including writing requests for proposal, managing the consultant pre-qualification, reviewing proposals, conducting consultant interviews, preparing estimates, and final contract negotiation.Maintain and coordinate consultant administration and training files.

Minimum Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for a Transportation Senior Manager include a two-year associate degree, in the preferred fields of engineering, construction, business management, or similar. Requires four years of professional work experience, with preferred fields of contracting, interpreting engineering plans and specifications, construction management, or similar.Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, medical screening, reference check and driving records check.
