Robert Barry Peterson was born Minot, Ward County, North Dakota on June 26, 1923, to P.H. (Henry) and Rose Peterson. He entered the United States Navy in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 9, 1943.  He married Lucille Janet Walsh on March 3, 1945. Ensign Peterson died in service on June 19, 1946, in Norfolk, Virginia and is buried in Block 51, Grave 21, Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, North Dakota.

Leonard D Petersen was born on June 17, 1903, in Moline, Rock Island County, Illinois to Mr. and Mrs. Jens Petersen and later became a resident of Cass County, North Dakota. He entered The United States Army in Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota on February 10, 1941. He married Mildred Lucille Stolz on December 7, 1933. Lieutenant Colonel Peterson served European African Middle Eastern Theater and died in service on March 8, 1945, in Italy. He was buried on December 2, 1948, in the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, Meade County, South Dakota, Plot A 90.
