Biography:

Bernard Guy Peterson was born in Makoti, Ward County, North Dakota on July 4, 1923, to Nels Peterson and Bessie Bivins Peterson.  He entered the United States Marine Corps in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 27, 1944.  Private First Class Peterson served Asiatic Pacific Theater and was killed in action on May 15, 1945, in Okinawa, Japan. He is buried in Grave 925, Section M, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl Cemetery, Grave 925, Section M, Honolulu, Hawaii along with Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Makoti, Ward County, North Dakota.

Victor Carl Petersen was born in Calgary, Calgary Census Division, Alberta, Canada on January 27, 1922, to Willard M and Karen Anna Marie Billie Schmidt Peterson and later became a resident of Kenmare, Ward County, North Dakota. He entered the United States Marine Corp in San Diego, California on May 28, 1942, and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Corporal Petersen was killed in action on April 12, 1945, at Ryukyu Island, Nanseidai, Katano-shi, Osaka, Japan and is buried in the Court of the Missing, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii.

Albert Clinton Peterson was born in Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota on June 19, 1926, to Albert Clinton and Sarah Rose "Sadie" Libby Peterson. He entered the United States Army at Fort Snelling, Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 23, 1944, and served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater. Private Peterson died in service of drowning on June 27, 1945, in Italy and is buried at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota, Southpark Section R Veterans-A.

Carl Vicktor (Victor) Person was born in Valhalla, Wells County, North Dakota on July 28, 1922, to Carl August "Gust" (Persson) Person and Caroline Barby. He entered the United States Army in Fort Lewis, Washington on December 4, 1942. Private First Class Person served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater and was killed in action on April 14, 1945, in Firenze Nova, Citta Metropolitana di Firenze, Toscana, Italy. He received the Purple Heart and is buried in Plot A, Row 5, Grave 5, Florence, Citta Metropolitana di Firenze, Toscana, Italy.
