A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact sections 37-14-01.1 and 37-14-18 and subsection 8 of section 37-19.1-01 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to the accreditation of county veterans' service officers and the definition of a veteran for purposes of veterans' relief and rehabilitation and veterans' preference.

 
This bill would...
  • Add ND Military Service members not meeting definition of veteran under NDCC 37-01-40 but have a Service Connected VA disability rating as eligible for
    • NDDVA Loan Program
    • NDDVA Grant Program
    • ND Veterans Employment Preference
  • Add National Guard 20 year honorably discharged service members to ND Veterans Employment Preference
  • Remove Wartime and resident requirement for ND Veterans Employment Preference 
  • Add NDDVA to CVSO accreditation requirement
  • Add CVSO office employees to accreditation requirement
  • Allow CVSO's 6 months to obtain accreditation 
  • Remove "County" from veteran service officer

SENATE AMENDMENTS AND ACTIONS

  • Removed "and employees of veterans service offices"
  • Changed from "6 months" to "12 months" to obtain accreditations
