Arnold H. Hausauer

Biography:

Arnold Herman Hausauer was born May 11, 1925 on the family farm near Skogmo, Sheridan County, North Dakota.
He graduated from McClusky High School in 1943 and was drafted into the Army shortly afterward.
Arnold was killed June 18, 1945 while serving in Okinawa. He was leading his men up to a building and accidentally stepped on a land mine. He was first buried on Okinawa but was re-interred at McClusky City Cemetery in June of 1949. He rests next to his father and mother.

Biography:

Leroy C. Haugen

Biography:

Cpl. LeRoy Haugen was born April 7, 1930 at Langdon, North Dakota to Helmer and Louise Haugen. He had been in the U.S. Army over 5 years, about 3 of them in service during the Korean War and Japan with the Eighth Army. He had been stationed at Ft. Sheridan, Ill and later transferred to Ft. Lincoln, Bismarck, ND with the North Dakota Military District. On June 4, 1952 he had died as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Wilton ND in Burleigh County ND. He was survived by his wife Nettie, parents Helmer and Louise Haugen of Hunter, ND.
