Lloyd E. Chaussee

Biography:

Lloyd Emory Chaussee was born in Bottineau, Bottineau County, North Dakota on March 24, 1920, to Alfred and Marie Virginie Chaussee. He entered the United States Navy Reserve in Minneapolis Minnesota on July 4, 1942. Commissary Steward Second Class Chaussee died in service on September 30, 1945, in Seattle, Washinton, of a brain tumor. He is buried in Plot 20, Section 3, Grave 1, Mount Saint Mark's Cemetery Bottineau, North Dakota.

Paul served as a Technical Sergeant & Engineer on B-24H #41-29423, 786th Bomber Squadron, 466th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Los Angeles County, California prior to the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Elmer Carpenter was originally from Barton, Pierce County, North Dakota and Saint John, Rolette County, North Dakota. He was the son of Lemuel Seth Carpenter and Lillie M Cameron. His mother had died in 1915 and then his father in 1932. He married Edith Jean Hunt in 1936 and was living in Long Beach, California while in the service.

Earl O. Carlson

Biography:

Earl Oscar Carlson was the son of Henry C. Carlson and Emma C. Fox. He was born and raised in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, and received his grammar school education there. Swedish was spoken in his home growing up and he mastered his native tongue as well as English. He graduated high school as well as graduating a North Dakota Agricultural College.
