Edward (Red) Reichenberg was born in Flovingveil (Morse), Saskatchewan, Canada on May 14, 1914, to Samuel and Maria (Mary) Holderbein Reichenberg. He became a resident of Sheridan County, North Dakota and entered the United States Army in Presideo of Monterey, California on November 28, 1942, and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Private Reichenberg was killed in action on January 2, 1945, in the Province of Leyte in the Philippines Islands. He is buried in Row 19, Grave 768, Section C, Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California.
