The Cass Human Service Zone Family Service Department serves to ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families in our community. Positions are available to be filled with designated afternoon shift hours with specialization as CPS Assessment Worker or In-Home / Foster Care Case Manager depending on candidate experience, skillset and interest.Cross-training within the team may be utilized to ensure prompt response and consistency to ensure child safety in our community. Strong documentation, communication and collaboration skills are required of individuals in these positions to maintain quality delivery of services and continuity of client and case management between teams and team members on different shifts. Afternoon shifts may range between 11 AM to 9 PM.Hybrid (in-office and telecommuting) work environments will be considered for these positions outside of agency business hours.Zone business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Frequent travel throughout Cass County, and occasional intrastate travel, is required.Example of DutiesAssess and process referrals for child abuse or neglect.Conduct assessment interviews.Design, organize, implement, and monitor effectiveness of case plans. Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, behavioral health, or criminal justice. Plus, one of the following:A LBSW and/or background in social work is preferred, but not required for this position. As a Parole and Probation Officer, you will provide direct supervision to individuals placed on parole or probation. You will complete intakes on clients, develop case plans, and provide overall management of the client's case. In this position, you may assist in parole investigations for the Parole Board, and other miscellaneous investigations as needed. Work includes exposure to hazardous conditions potentially resulting in a serious physical injury requiring medical attention, and some lost time from work. Exposure occurs on a periodic or intermittent basis. Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for a Parole and Probation Officer II requires a bachelor's degree with preference given with a degree in a behavioral science, education, business or closely related field and eligibility to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota, and three years of work experience directly interacting with individuals in a correctional, law enforcement, social work, education, behavioral health setting OR associate degree with five years of experience directly interacting with individuals in a correctional, law enforcement, social work, education or behavioral health setting. Incumbent must be licensable as a ND Peace Officer under North Dakota Century Code Chapter 12-63, which includes passing the critical task assessment. Incumbent shall attend the first available basic peace officer training recognized by the ND Peace Officers and Training Board (POST Board) ensuring authorization to perform the peace officer duties of a Parole and Probation Officer in accordance with North Dakota Century Code Section 12-59-20. Must have a valid class D driver's license. Must pass a thorough background investigation and criminal record check. Minimum qualifications for the Parole and Probation Officer I require a bachelor's degree, with preference given to degrees in behavioral science, business, education or closely related field OR associate degree with two years of experience directly interacting with individuals in a correctional, law enforcement, social work, education, or behavioral health setting. Must be eligible to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota. As a surface water hydrologist with the North Dakota Department of Water Resources, you will have an impact on the sustainable management of surface water resources in an environment that provides many opportunities to learn using robust datasets and technology. The management of water rights requires an interdisciplinary approach of water policy, science, and data management. Hydrologist duties include:Manage surface water permits and applications in an assigned area and make recommendations to the Department of Water Resources Director and State Engineer.Document, organize, analyze, and interpret hydrologic data.Provide technical advice on surface water resource problems.Conduct surface water resource investigations and studies.Occasional travel for field work or meetings.Measure and record stream and river discharges, sometimes in unfavorable conditions.Work with local, state, and federal agencies on water resource issues.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master of Science degree in engineering, earth sciences, environmental sciences, or closely related field plus three years of related experience, or a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, earth sciences, environmental sciences, or closely related field plus five years of related experience. Must have a valid Class D driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

Courses or work experience in hydrology, surface water management, or water resource management program.Knowledge of North Dakota water law.Knowledge of the water resource planning and management authorities and responsibilities of state and federal agencies and local units of government.Ability to interpret maps, hydrologic data, water resource studies, and reports.Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and through public speaking and presentations.Experience writing technical reports.Demonstrated knowledge and experience of programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python, R) and open-source geographic information systems software (e.g., QGIS).Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
