Leander W. Ege

Biography:

Leander William Ege was born on November 24, 1917, in New England, Slope County, North Dakota to Frederick Joseph Ege and Elizabeth Mary (Lizzie) Loesch Ege. Technician Fourth Grade Ege served in the African, Italian, French, Germany, Austrian Theatres and was engaged in Tunisia, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Rhineland, and Central Europe Campaigns. He was killed in action on August 6, 1945, in Wels, Austria and is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Plot F, Row 14, Grave 31, Saint-Avold, Département de la Moselle, Lorraine, France. He received Bronze Star award.

Harold D. Ellingson

Biography:

Harold Douglas Ellingson was born on December 29, 1918, in Mohall, Renville County, North Dakota to Gilbert and Marie (Mary) Amanda (Thompson) Ellingson. He entered the United States Army on December 2, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota and served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater. Technician 4C Ellingson was married to Bernice Crystal Kjonaas (Sorbo) on December 20, 1941, and was killed in action on February 20, 1945, in Saag, Passau, Bavaria, German.  He is buried at Florence American Cemetery and Memorial, Florence, Italy, Plot E, Row 5, Grave 41.

Irvin C. Ellingson

Irvin Ellingson was born on January 5, 1920 to Tommy (T.B.) and Ella Ellingson, living one mile north of Dahlen, ND, on the home farm. He had two sisters and five brothers. He attended grade and high school in Dahlen and graduated in 1936 as class salutatorian.
